I grunted, "I'll fight you! As long as I'm fully healed!" Immediately, everything becomes real again...sort of at least. We're back in the room again, everyone sweating from what they saw, April the palest out of the group. A bottle of purple liquid now rolled towards me, with Eirik smiling. I grab the bottle, finding on the cap the words, 'Drink me.' I sigh, "Fan of Alice in Wonderland, huh?" Eirik nodded, only waiting for me to get ready. I pull off the cap, immediately taking small sips of the liquid. My health and magic began to rejuvanate towards the brim of their respective bars as I finished the last few drops. I call forth my scythe, Eirik just continued floating in his original entry point.

"That was a hard find, considering it's not even released, you know. So please, make this all the more worthwhile," said Eirik with a wicked smile. A barrier now formed around the two of us, covering a quarter of the boss room.



I muttered, at both Eirik and Lexy, "Since when would you care about anything..?"

when do i come in next???

The chapter after the next one (Maybe even after the one after that one), however, it's not going to be a *major appearance* while someone else who's been in hiatus for oh so long will take that appearance. Yes. :3

The battle commences as a flurry of flames head in my direction, to which I counter the flames by jumping into a strong-slash while in mid-air, disrupting the mass into several fireballs that hit the barrier from all sides. Eirik flys full throttle in my direction now, to where I have little chance of recovery with the use of my scythe after slashing the flames. Instead, I shift my weight to which before Eirik could slam his staff upon me, I gave him a good blow in the face with the heel of my foot. His health bar now became visible above his head now, revealing he lost 5% of his health.

He spat, "Not bad, but counteract this!" A white glow came from his staff, to which I realize his intentions. Just as I landed on the ground, several beams of light now burst out from the center of Eirik's staff, all heading towards me from all angles. Out of panic, I spun into a 'gyroscope' stance like I had done before, only to deflect two of the several lights. The lights, upon contact of my body, morphed into a javelin of light, piercing through my skin completely, leaving behind no marks. However, both my health and magic bars decreased by 10% for each one, and I had been hit six times, leaving me at 40% health and magic. I grunted in pain, while Origin looked at me in a confused manner.

so how much longer is this story going to last?

Origin asked, "Wait... Isn't Felix supposed to be resistant to light-elemental damage? I mean, I'm a Heavy Blade and I have a decent resistance to earth, but a horrible weakness to lightning... Doesn't the Reaper of Light get a resistance to light and a-"

"The RoL has no element, he simply has control over the power of light, and many other elements," interrupted Kane. Origin and Sky looked at him with astonishment, while Lan and April kept watching me breathe desperately for some air.

Lan whimpered, "Felix, don't lose... You can't, I mean...you just can't..."

April cried, "Behind you, Felix!" As I began leaning my weight on my scythe, I turned my head a tad to see him standing there, his staff raised in the air, gathering blue and yellow energies into the seperate ends of his staff.

"Goodbye, Reaper of Nothing." A sharp, ice spearhead formed on the sapphire end of his staff, the crimson end covered with a ball of lightning. Before I could react, he stabbed his staff right through me, leaving me with chills from the ice sticking out of my abdomen region. 35% health. "Die!" I turn my head further to see him step away from my body, to realize the lightning end of the staff began to grow larger, to the point where it exploded and launched my body right through the staff a second time. I crash against the barrier, my body squirming in pain, as I fell towards the ground with a loud thud! 1%.

Not again... I thought, as I coughed blood onto the ground, which I knew wasn't supposed to happen. I could feel everyone's eyes on me, as I looked to them, seeing horror spill right through their faces. Then 'he' materializes in front of me, grinning as he pulled out a dagger from his right chest pocket, walking towards me.



An orb of light now appeared outside of the barrier, catching everyone's attention, including Eirik's. He muttered, "So you decided to show up after all." The orb now approached April, who was at the brink of tears by now, immediately absorbing her into a large ball of light that now penetrated through the duel barrier, releasing her upon entry. Without any hesitation, she ran towards me, crying on my crippled body.

"Feliiiiiiiiiix!" she shrieked, to which Eirik simply laughed.

"Pathetic," said Eirik. "Getting a girl to cry over your loss for you is just pathtetic." April stood up now, head down, shaking with fear. She called forth her twin blades, imbueing them with dark magic.

I wheezed, "April...don't." She stepped away from me, going past my body, slowly walking towards Eirik, her head still down. Eirik simply smiled, pulling out another dagger, instead of retrieving his staff that lay by my side.

He hissed, "Bring it." April lifted her head now, releasing to dark slashes from her blades, forming a giant, black X with them, to which to began running right behind its trail. Eirik deflected the magic attack with the swipe of one dagger, while parrying April's downward double slash with the other dagger. With the snap of his wrist, he knocked April to my side with a jab of his open fist. One of her swords flung right by me, barely missing my arm as it stabbed the ground. "I appreciate the drama and fun you've brought to me today," smiled Eirik.

He walked towards me, grabbing his staff which still retained the spearhead made of ice. "Now watch me as I make your sister wish she never started playing this game, and make her quit forever!" Just as he entered a stance to focus the aim of staff right at April's body, to which she had been struggling to get back up, my hand reflexively reached for her blade that stood on the ground. Upon touching the hilt, I felt myself rejuvenize, reaching back to 20% health.

Just as Eirik begins to let loose his staff, I send a dark slash in his direction, hitting him square to his side. Everyone gasped at the sight of this, except for Lan who was eccentric at the time. April now looked up to see me holding her sword, to which she smiles. I toss her back her sword, warning, "Heads up." She catches the sword perfectly, as she calls forth her second blade. Upon the two blades being in her hand, a black aura flowed into a stream right out of the blades, forming a circle in the air.

Eirik got back up, holding a dagger in his hand, to which he rushes at me. By the time I realized this, my scythe could do nothing at this point due to the weapon's design. To my surprise, the black circle from April's dark blades enclosed itself to my left ring finger, forming a ring just like the one on my right ring finger, except it was made of onyx instead of gold. Right when his dagger came down, from the left hand sprung forth a pure white dagger in my left hand, which parried, and even overpowered the strength of his own dagger, causing the dagger to shatter.

Eirik retorted, "I'm stronger than you though! How could you shatter my own dagger when you're at a thirty level disadvantage!"

It was finally my turn to smile, to which I replied, "Simple. I'm the Reaper of Light, and it's my calling to slay the dragons. Now show your true form!" The last half of what I said just came out, in which I, along with everyone else, stood astonished, appalled, and even scared.

Eirik said in a low, dark voice, "Very well then. I guess you've left me with no other choice, now that you know your role in this."

Just as he began to raise his staff, a flash of light blinded everyone. The light began to dim as seconds flew by, to which Eirik mutters, "Guess you still haven't changed. So what's your name now?"

Lexi now materialized from the light, smiling, "Lexi. Now stop it, before you make me regret what I'm going to do."

Eirik laughed, "Really? How's a level thirty dragon going to conquer a level fifty one?" She snapped her fingers, to which the room flashed with violent streaks of red. Eirik frowned, dissolving within the air. Lexi did the same.

For a moment, we all remained silent, as the barrier now began to crumble; as the red siren kept flashing across the room; as if we learned a truth. In this odd silence, a man materialized before us with digital codings floating around him. These codings immediately dispersed in all directions, causing the room to turn back to its normal lighting, and a doorway to be revealed.

"You all must have gone through a lot," said the man. "Don't worry, I'm on your side. I'm a World Master. I'm just here to fix the problem and to warn the six of you to pretend none of this had ever happened. You understand? Else things will get messy, especially for you, Mr. Reaper of Light." I gulped, as he continued commanding, "Now, just get back to going through this dungeon, none of this happened, and don't make me suspend any of you." He looked at me the most while he said that.

"What's all the rucus about this time!?" A woman materialized in a manner similar to the World Master, adding, "The dragons got away yet again... Up the firewall! Make sure they don't get out of this zone if at all possible, do you understand!?" The two immediately vanished, while I dropped my body onto the floor.

A system message filled my view, the message saying:

Congradulations! You have beaten the Onyx Challenge and it's challenges. You now have permission to leave the Realm of Recruits, and permission to enter into the World of Twilight via the access of your menu screen. Happy gaming! +3000 experience

Everyone laughed a little, finding it hard to recover from what they had seen. As everyone caught up with me, I read aloud, "To the one who's willing to change their future." I glance at Lan, to which he smiled shyly, slowly reaching over to the chest, pulling out a black augment stone, level five if I'm right, as well as a necklace similar to the horse one I head, except it was that of a lion.

Kane chuckled, "You lucky man. You just hit the jackpot." I looked at him confused, despite knowing there was supposed to be something good out of these charms, I called them, at some point.

I ask, "Kane, do you know what they are used for?"

"Depends on what level you are. If I'm right, the lion should have a 30 on the back, and if my sources are right...you received the horse not too long ago. Should have a 25. Well, let's just say, there's more to the eye than you are expecting from it." Just like that, he logged out, without letting me ask how he even gathered such information.

Origin grinned, "Well, as weird as that was, I better be going too. I think I'm going to check out the Twilight Zone! Later!" He immediately vanished, leaving the party, which left a message saying:

Team member, Originlord, has switched to the Twilight Server.

Skylock exclaimed, "Hey! Wait for me!" She switched over as well, the same message appeared, and she waved goodbye at the last second.

Now it was just me, Lan, and April. I looked at my level, seeing I reached level twenty from this run alone, to which I smile, "Five levels away." Lan and April smiled with me, to which Lan begins to walk away.

"I'm going to be going now," confirmed Lan. "I have some business to do in the real world. See ya some other time." He logged out, with April wondering what he meant, while I smiled. Become stronger Lan. I know you can do it.

"So the dragons are real after all," sighed Felix.

I couldn't help but ask, "Felix, what exactly are 'the dragons?'"

"Well, apparently, this game has a folklore that tells of a hero known to wield a scythe imbued with the power of light, vanquishing these dragons that created the humans and cared for them, at least, until they despised them. He sealed the dragons away, not wishing to slay his creators. And that's where the story. However, the legend continues, saying the dragons would rise, and the hero would have to slay them." He paused. I stare at him with disbelief, yet he finally forces out, "I'm that hero April, I'm sure of it."

At first, I didn't know what to say. I felt like crying almost, wanting to pour my tears out, feeling sorry for him. Then, I noticed Felix smiling a bit, almost as if this was all he wanted to happen in his life; to be the hero, and to slay the evil ones. I raise one my blades, giggling, "Then Felix, hero of this world, I shall join you on this quest to the end of my life. Will you accept my help?"

Felix laughed a bit, "Why, of course, but how could I let such a lady take the stead of a man in this quest?"

"Sexist pig." I kick him in the shin, and look away from him, smiling.

He restrained his leg, while apologizing, "Eesh, sorry! I didn't mean it like that, I'm just kidding!"

I 'reluctantly' say, "Oh alright. Well, I'm going to be heading out, see you tomorrow!" I glomp him, logging out when he was about to hug me back.



I'm in my room again, smiling weakly, "Guess you really were real this whole time."

CL is a linear formula to calculate experience needed
WL and AL are both exponential formulas to calculate experience gained from usage of attacks/defenses
I'm mostly saying this as you shouldn't expect a character to be level 50 with lvl 30 AL and WL, as that's the best weapon set. In theory, the level 30 AL/WL is harder to achieve than a CL of 200, due to the mathematics behind it. I will make formulas for these and other things in the future, but I'll be doing a lot of guesswork, since I don't want there to be a major difference of a million points in experience between the three.

Prototype Formulas
Experience needed from one character level to the next. Experience always resets back to 0 upon level up.

CL- n = Current CL
1000*n ; Monsters at level 1 will give 100 experience, and it slowly increments from there to the next level of monsters.

AL/WL- m = Current AL/WL

n^2 + 10

1 point gained for each attack given/taken
2 points gained for each skill used/taken
3 points gained randomly for continuous attacks given/taken
5 points for being hit or hitting in a critical weak point.

I might have to redo my character level set ups now from all my chapters, primarily AL/WL, but I believe I'll be fine, as you do have to hit monsters so many times to kill them, and no one is perfect at dodging in the gaps. ^^;
